SAXTON - The Saxton Volunteer Fire Company in Bedford County is mourning the loss of a crew member after they responded to a call involving one of their own. A new release from the department said Jerri Carson died in a car crash on Monday. The release said Company 35 responded to a call when a single car had rolled over on State Route 26 near Cherrywood around 9:45 p.m.

Johnstown, PA (WJAC) — The Pennsylvania Superior Court has upheld the life sentence for Paul Lehman, a Cambria County man who was convicted of first-degree murder last year. Lehman was sentenced last June to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of killing 19-year-old Deontaye Hurling on Thanksgiving Day in 2018. Authorities say Lehman admitted to fighting with Hurling over drugs and testified that he allegedly saw Hurling reach for a gun, at which point he pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed him 46 times, causing him to crash into a fish tank.
JOHNSONBURG, Pa. Officials said Kimberly Kitchen worked at BMZ law firm in Huntingdon for a decade and never attended law school. Westmoreland County, PA — Authorities in Westmoreland County say an Apollo man has been found guilty of fatally shooting his wife last year. Following a four-day trial, officials say a jury convicted 44-year-old Alfred Steele of first-degree murder. Steele was charged last May after police say he confessed to shooting and killing his wife Kelly at a U-Haul storage facility in Lower Burrell. Police say Steele turned himself in to authorities after shooting his wife in the back of the head after agreeing to meet her at the facility.
CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say an inmate at SCI Houtzdale has pleaded guilty to killing his cellmate last summer. District attorney Ryan Sayers says Derek Bullard entered a plea to third degree murder in the death of 79-year-old Roberto Quevada. Investigators charged Bullard in August after police say he admitted to strangling Quevada and then wrapping his body up in a blanket and leaving him in his bunk.
