PITSTBURGH — Former Miami [Ohio] standout Nike Sibande has signed an aid agreement and will join the University of Pittsburgh basketball program for the 2020-21 season, school officials announced Saturday afternoon. Substance use disorder is an ongoing issue across the nation, including right here in the Commonwealth. According to aStates Drug Enforcement Administration Report, almost 300,000 Pennsylvanians had an active substance use disorder this past year. “We definitely have been seeing numbers continue to increase and you know almost 300,000 people in the past year is a result of a lot of things coming together,” said Brooke McKenzie, the Chief of clinical care services with Dreamlife Recovery.

DUBOIS, Pa (WJAC) — This week, twenty college baseball and softball teams will compete in a four-day tournament within the city of DuBois in hopes of beating teams from all across the country. Officials say the tournament's impact extends beyond the field. Hundreds of baseball and softball players have descended on DuBois to participate in the Small College World series. "It's just it's a really unique environment. It's one of the benefits of being able to come into a small town and host a huge event,” says USCAA Chief Operating Officer BJ Bertges.

Within recent weeks, the 54-year-old Morelli has been arrested twice: Two separate cases on similar charges soliciting sex from teenage girls.

UNIVERSITY PARK -- Head coach James Franklin unveiled the 2020 Penn State Football recruiting class today during the Signing Day celebration in the Lasch Football Building. Penn State’s Class of 2020 is ranked 12th nationally by 247Sports Composite and ESPN, and 14th by Rivals, as of Wednesday evening. Penn State welcomed 27 student-athletes, who signed National Letters of Intent to join the football program. Eleven of the signees will be early enrollees in January – Cole Brevard, Nick Dawkins, Jaden Dottin, Tyler Elsdon, Caziah Holmes, Enzo Jennings, Joseph Johnson III, Theo Johnson, KeAndre Lambert-Smith, Bryce Mostella and Fatorma Mulbah.
SOMERSET, Pa. - Anglers will have to wait another year before they can use the waters at Somerset Lake. According to the Fish and Boat Commission, construction at lake has been delayed to due to permitting. The lake was drained in October 2017 to prep for a multi-million-dollar construction project to build a new spillway, raise the elevation of the dam top and make repairs to the dam. The construction was slated to begin this fall, but now will likely start in the spring of 2019.
