A coalition of lawmakers is pushing forward the ongoing investigation into just how much taxpayer money Pentagon officials are taking away from national defense and putting toward diversity, equity and inclusivity initiatives.
The Pentagon has been under increasing scrutiny for itsfocus on DEI, even as the Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hamas wars continue.
The lawmakers sent a letter to the Defense Advisory Committee on Diversity and Inclusion Chair General (Ret.) Lester Lyles expressing concerns that the focus on DEI was a distraction and was hurting recruitment.
RICHLAND, Pa (WJAC) — A group of local pool players came together in support of a family that lost their business and home in a fire earlier this year.
Three-dozen players competed in a doubles’ tournament at Mully's Billiards in Richland, with proceeds benefiting the family that owned Jim’s Place Bar and Grill in Windber.
A fire destroyed the restaurant back on March 4th.
Organizers say they wanted to raise money to help the family replace some of what they lost.

ALTOONA - Several cemeteries in Altoona rely on volunteers to maintain its grounds. But it appears there's not enough help to keep them maintained.
A portion of the Oak Ridge Cemetery is well kept. But further up the hill, the weeds are almost as tall as the headstones. The names on the headstones are strangers to Matthew Lindsey. He doesn't have any loved ones buried at Oak Ridge. But after driving past the area again and again, he had to do something about the tall grass.
