HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — In Huntingdon County, the Whipple Dam State Park is reopening following the completion of a dredging project.
According to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the park reopened Friday after having been closed since September 2019.
Officials say 40,000 cubic yards of sediment was removed from the lake bed.
The department also repaved all the paved surfaces in the park and restored several fish habitat structures and turtle platforms.
The Amerisev Flood City Music Festival is back to regular summer programming this year. Last year, due to the pandemic, the event was held in October. The two-day festival is taking place at PNG park and starts tomorrow at two pm. You can purchase tickets in advance online or at the gate.

The Pennsylvania Special Olympic summer games were canceled due to air quality concerns event organizers said.
Special Olympic athletes said they were on their way to the event when they found out about the cancellation.
The athletes said they were disappointed when they heard the news.
They said they understand the safety concerns, and despite the letdown athletes said they were not mad about the decision under the circumstances.
Not having the event this year will make next year even sweeter they said.
HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. — One man is dead and another injured after a vehicle accident Monday morning in Porter Township, Huntingdon County, state police say.

AMBRIDGE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a woman in western Pennsylvania shot and killed her two daughters. Ambridge police say 48-year-old Krisinda Bright called officers to the home on Monday afternoon. Interim Police Chief John Deluca says officers found "a gruesome scene" inside. The Beaver County coroner says 16-year-old Kiara Bright and 22-year-old Jasmine Cannady were shot in the head. Their mother was taken to the county jail and is charged with two counts of homicide.
SOMERSET COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities in Somerset County say four individuals are facing involuntary manslaughter charges in the 2022 death of a 2-year-old boy in Milford Township.
Investigators say the child was found unresponsive on April 17, 2022 and was taken to UPMC Somerset, where he later died.
Officials say the child's cause of death was determined to be "multiple drug intoxication" as fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and xylazine were all reportedly found in his system.
DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa [TND] — The case of a missing 8-year-old girl from Pennsylvania, whose remains were found in 1975, was solved. Authorities in Media, Pennsylvania charged 83-year-old David Zandstra with criminal homicide, murder of the first, second, and third degree, kidnapping of a minor and the possession of an instrument of crime, nearly 50 years after Gretchen Harrington was murdered. Zandstra admitted to the crime, according to Delaware County District Attorney, Jack Stollsteimer.
