ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center is hosting an event this Saturday featuring women who've served and broken barriers in the military.
“It's called 'I am not Invisible,' and what it is, is a photo shoot where we highlight our women veterans and begin a conversation about them,” says VA Medical Center stakeholder relations chief Shaun Shenk.
Saturday, a large section of wall in the hospital will be filled with pictures and stories, all about women and their service and sacrifices for our country.

RICHMOND, Va. (7News/AP) — Dozens of graduating students at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) walked out Saturday, May 11 during an address by Gov. Glenn Youngkin in Richmond.
While some of the estimated 100 students and family members who left during the Republican governor’s speech showed support for Palestinians, others held signs signaling opposition to Youngkin’s policies on education, according to WRIC-TV.
Videos on social media showed that as Gov. Youngkin began his speech, several students stood up and walked out.
The Criminal Investigation Unit belonging to the Pennsylvania State Police in York executed a search warrant in Codorus Township on July 11, 2023, after conducting an ongoing investigation against the residents.

Clearfield Co., PA (WJAC) — Commissioner Antonio “Tony” Scotto announced his resignation from the Clearfield County Commission at Tuesday’s meeting.
Scotto said he will resign effective October 10. He said he was already planning not to run for re-election in November 2023.
Scotto told 6 News he is taking a job in the private sector and will not be leaving Clearfield County. He thanked his supporters and family for giving him the opportunity to be commissioner.
Elk County, PA (WJAC) — An Elk County man is facing multiple drug-related charges after selling a woman bags of heroin and fentanyl that resulted in her death, police say.
According to a criminal complaint, police were called to a home on the 100 block of Neubert Street in Saint Mary's on Sept. 14 for a reported drug overdose.
Police say that, once they arrived on scene, they discovered a 24 year-old woman deceased with an uncapped syringe in her hand and nearby empty bags of suspected heroin and fentanyl.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A newly released indictment against a man accused of killing three women provides when the victims were killed and when their bodies were dumped.
Earlier this month, Jesse Lee Calhoun was charged with the second-degree murders of 24-year-old Charity Lynn Perry, 32-year-old JoAnna Speaks and 31-year-old Bridget LeAnne Webster.
Calhoun is also charged with three counts of second-degree abuse of a corpse.
In a two-page indictment released Friday, prosecutors relied on the testimonies of 16 witnesses that were presented to a grand jury.

LOWER YODER TOWNSHIP – West Hills Regional Police are searching for a man they said robbed the Dollar Tree store in Westwood Plaza Tuesday night.
Police said the man entered the store in the 1900 block of Minno Drive round 9 p.m., pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cash register.
Police describe the man as white with a thin build and approximately 6 feet 5 inches tall. The man is said to be in his 30s.
