UPDATE | University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State Transportation officials announced Friday afternoon that the Eisenhower Parking Deck will partially reopen to the public on Monday following the sinkhole that was discovered earlier this week.
Officials say the north section of the parking structure will remain closed.
The university says the parking garage will be accessible by traveling east on Eisenhower Road from Shortlidge Road.
Investigators have not yet released the cause of Wednesday's sinkhole.
3rd person dies after tanker truck with jet fuel hits 2 cars on Pennsylvania Turnpike, police say

WORCESTER, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a third person has died as a result of a weekend crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike involving a tanker truck carrying jet fuel and a pair of stopped cars.
State police said the crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-476 on the turnpike’s Northeast Extension just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Worcester Township, Montgomery County.
Troopers said a vehicle with a flat tire came to a stop in the right lane of the highway and another vehicle behind it stopped and the driver activated hazard lights.

University Park, PA (WJAC) — Penn State administrators on Wednesday provided an update on the university's budget after announcing several months ago that the university is facing a “substantial deficit” in its general operating budget.
According to a recent report, Penn State has $12.4 billion in total assets, but most of it is allocated for specific uses.
University administrators are now trying to balance the operating budget by 2025, after revealing a deficit of more than $125 million in the past fiscal year.

"It's about our First Amendment right in this country to free speech," said Betsy Brantner Smith, Spokesperson for The National Police Association. The ruling allows the NRA to continue itslawsuit against New York official Maria Vullo, who urged insurance companies to cut ties with the gun rights groups following the mass shooting in Parkland, Florida in 2018.
JOHNSTOWN -- One person has been charged after Johnstown police responded Thursday morning to JWF Industries after a suspicious package was found.
Christin Barnes, an employee at JWF Industries for 2 1/2 years, is facing felony charges of weapons of mass destruction causing evacuation and serious public inconvenience. The package was found overnight Wednesday in the Iron Street business, police said.
Interim police Chief Jeff Janciga said a device that appeared to be a pipe bomb was found inside a shared locker in the Iron Street facility.

ELMORA -- An explosion and fire early Monday morning destroyed the Bakerton Rod and Gun Clubhouse in Cambria County.
Fire crews arrived just after 7 a.m. where authorities say people were inside preparing breakfast for veterans for the Memorial Day parade.
The building is a total loss.
One woman and a firefighter were injured after the Carrolltown fire chief says some kind of natural gas explosion caused the fire.
