BANGOR, Maine (WGME) — Country music star Luke Combs helped make a Maine boy's 12th birthday extra special Friday night. Bo Fenderson and his friend, Tanner, wanted to see Combs perform in Bangor last weekend. In order to pay for their $100 tickets, Fenderson and Tanner stacked wood until they earned enough money to go to the show. The two boys brought signs to hold in the crowd and show Combs what they accomplished to see him in concert.
JOHNSTOWN — Sideline Cancer is about more than just winning basketball games. Yes, the team is one win away from The Basketball Tournament's $1 million championship prize. But, this organization plays for the fight against cancer. The team sponsor is Hollidaysburg's Cathy Griffith. She's the president of the Griffith Family Foundation, which is an organization created in honor of Greg Griffith--Cathy's late husband. Greg lost a battle with cancer in 2011.
WASHINGTON (TND) — Anew study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that a majority of American adults are at risk of developing heart disease. The condition behind the risk is called cardiovascular-kidney metabolic (CKM) syndrome, which is the overlap of cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, type 2 diabetes and obesity. According to the study, 90% of adults over the age of 20 may have it, which puts them at risk of developing heart diseases like stroke, heart attack or heart failure.

Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday by claiming he had committed war crimes while defending his country from Hamas terrorists. “Genocidal maniac,” Rep. UNIVERSITY PARK — Two Penn State University fraternities lost their recognition on Saturday after what the university called "several violations of university rules." Delta Upsilon lost its recognition until the end of the spring semester, and Lambda Phi lost its recognition until the end of the 2019 spring semester. According to the university, this means both frats lost their recognition as a student organization, meaning they can't participate in Greek life activities and can't participate in events like homecoming and fundraising event THON.
ALTOONA, Pa. (WJAC) — The Walmart Supercenter along Plank Road in Altoona began selling beer and wine Friday. According to managers, the Altoona Beer and Wine Cafe will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. seven days a week. It's in the front of the store by the grocery side entrance. Altoona is the fourth Walmart to sell both beer and wine in the state. The Walmart in DuBois also sells both.
When most people think of bullying, they think of kids or teens but what they don’t realize is that it also affects the majority of adults. A survey conductedby Harris Poll on behalf of the American Osteopathic Association found that adults are being bullied at almost the same levels as teens. The survey included over 2,000 adults in the United States and found that 31% have been bullied in their adult years.
DUBOIS, Pa.-- A rail car conversion diner found its way to DuBois. "We have a 1950's passenger train and a 1913 parlor car train," Todd Jones, Manager of The Depot at Doolittle's, said. The Depot at Doolittle's, located at 1290 Rich Highway, opened it's 1950's train just a few weeks ago and it's 1913 car on New Year's Eve. Themed by the year in which they were built, the trains bring some history to DuBois.
