'It's more exciting!' Blair Co. man accused of murdering neighbor charged for stabbing fellow inmate

Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say a Blair County man who was arrested earlier this year after he confessed to killing his neighbor and living with the victim's corpse, for three days, is now facing additional charges.
Last week, officials reported that 51-year-old Raymond Oechsle Jr. was accused of stabbing two fellow inmates while jailed on the previous murder charge.
On Friday, authorities say Oechsle was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault and assault by a prisoner.
Investigators say prison cameras allegedly captured Oechsle approaching the first victim, who was seated, and stabbing him in the face, multiple times, with a makeshift weapon.
Authorities say Oechsle then reportedly entered the victim's cell, where he stabbed the second victim who was laying on his bed.
Investigators say one of the victims was transported to UPMC Pittsburgh after suffering numerous stab wounds to his eyes and forehead.
Authorities note that the victim now has a loss of vision in his right eye.
According to a criminal complaint, after the stabbing, Oechsle was reportedly overheard yelling, "one less child molester."
Officials also noted that, according to court records, Oechsle was previously convicted in federal court for stabbing another federal inmate, 22 times, with "homemade shanks."
Police say he served 20 years in federal prison for the conviction.
Authorities add that while awaiting trial in the death of his neighbor, Christopher Helsel, officials reportedly discovered a series of letters, written by Oechsle that reportedly detail his "enjoyment" of stabbing other individuals to death.
"It's more exciting than sex," Oechsle reportedly wrote.
During further investigation, police say they also spoke with some of Oechsle's former neighbors, who had reportedly received a "disturbing" letter from him in the mail.
In said letter, investigators say Oechsle allegedly apologized for 'what happened' to his neighbor whom he confessed to killing.
"Right now, I'm in a cell block with a known child molester. For sure, the system is using me to do their dirty work," Oechsle wrote.
Oechsle's preliminary hearing in the latest stabbing case is set for November 14.
