Bishop Carroll senior reaches 1K career point milestone

On Monday night, one local high school basketball player reached a career milestone.

Luke Repko was a walking bucket Monday, scoring shot after shot as he eclipsed 1000 career points.

The Bishop Carroll senior hit a three pointer in the second quarter to take him to exactly 1,001 points.

Repko says he didn’t actually know how many points he needed coming into the game to achieve the milestone.

“I knew I was close, but they didn't tell me how many points I was away, so I was kind of surprised.”

But he knew he was close when his coach called a timeout and drew up a play for him to score.

“I knew something was off whenever he drew up the play for me. I was like, all right.”

Paired with the crowd’s reaction, Repko figured he was a score away.

“I kind of got the hint that I was really close. Everyone was cheering a little louder than usual.”

Repko finished the night with 26 points, only three less than Somerset’s entire team.

And he sat the entire fourth quarter since the Huskies boasted such a big lead.

Repko shared his game ball with his parents and grandmother calling them his biggest supporters.

Now with this milestone complete, Repko is focused on a playoff run.

“I’m looking forward to getting some wins the rest of the week. We need to rebound from the losses we’ve had so move on win some games, get in the playoffs.”
