4 area men charged in Centre Co. sex sting indicted by grand jury

A federal grand jury has indicted four men who were arrested several weeks ago in Centre County on child predator charges.

The federal charges appear to follow the same criminal investigation that led to the original arrests.

On November 13th, four men from across the region were charged in a police sting operation.

“Four individuals were arrested here in Patton Township for attempting to have unlawful contact with child victims. It was a multi-faceted investigation.”

Now, a federal grand jury has indicted all four men, with federal documents alleging that Christopher Crispin, from Centre County, Robert Mansberger, of Huntingdon County, Walter Sitosky, of Clearfield County and Gregory Wilson, of Mifflin County, at various times in early November, attempted to arrange meetings, in Centre County, with teenagers for sex.

According to police, all four suspects were dealing with undercover officers.

“We did have the FBI involved; talked to them and expressed our interest in pursuing a deal with them and having them take the lead.”

The federal grand jury indictments list the same charge for the four men, attempted enticement of a minor.

For Crispin, there is also a federal charge of attempted receipt of child pornography.

All four are due in federal court for hearings later this week.

“It’s important to note when you meet someone online, they may not be who they say they are. It’s better to verify the acquaintances people you’re meeting, because there are a lot of individuals out there who are looking to do harm to our most vulnerable population, our children.”
