Missouri man attempted to meet 'teen' for sex at Punxsutawney Sheetz
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Authorities say a Missouri man is behind bars in Jefferson County, accused of trying to meet a teenage girl for sex.
Police say on Sunday, 56-year-old David Patterson began communicating with members of the group 814 Pred Hunters, who were posing as a 15-year-old girl.
Police say the conversation became sexual, and Patterson was arrested Thursday morning at Sheetz in Punxsutawney, where he thought he was meeting the teen.
According to online court records, Patterson is charged with multiple offenses, including felonies for statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors.
He is being housed in the Jefferson County Jail on $200,000 bail.
